nice quote

A friend told me:

we have to do what we NEED to do before we can do what we WANT to do

it's very true and it's mood lifting, knowing that 'i'm doing what i need to do now, what i want is waiting for me after that' really make me feel better.

yea, nothing comes so easily, we must put in effort, endure some hardship before achieving what we want.

no one is born a boss or leader before you put in effort.

The two important things I did learn were that you are as powerful and strong as you allow yourself to be, and that the most difficult part of any endeavour is taking the first step, making the first decision. ~ Robyn Davidson

moon cake fest celebration

we're celebrating mooncake fest in advance tonight at boss' house. The actual day will be 22/9, next wed.

Me and supervisor are the ones leaving at 6pm, the earlier shift & boss wanted one of us to follow her car. well..how to decide? cast lots! fair enough.

Me: MY,draw for me la, i donwana draw myself... or u jz throw it in the middle see which paper drop at my side..haha
MY: no no.. later i'll be the one to be blamed..
So there i go, reluctantly chose one paper, and open it up real slow... and... 'huh!!!! noooo...wei... y me la..'
haha.. actually we did hav a good time laughing and drawing the lots.

so, my colleagues were suggesting ideas for me to chat with boss in the car:
wah, ur car so pretty...
ur car so spacey n comfortable..
and the lists go on..

'MY,why dont u call me later..jz pretend is a friend wanting to chat with me, to keep my time occupied with the call..haha..' I joked

once i got in the car and boss is starting the engine, i was trying to start a conversation and here i go with: 'oh, u put ur dolphin at the handbrake here ar..' (lame..cant believe i really find some topic from the car..)
boss: yes.. it's the mock edition of the dolphin, so is not the big big one..
me : oic..but it's not affecting u pulling the handbrake?
boss: no..used to it ady..
me : i c..

~end of conversation~

uncomfortable silence...
so here i go again:
'oh u listen to korean songs ah?' i asked, feeling so damn lame again haha...i jz cant help...

and on the half way, MY sms me: u still survive? haha!

yea..i'm surviving well.
luckily we found something to talk about.. something that at least i'm interested to listen to.. traveling, australia, new zealand..

Popular Book Fest 2010

The annual Popular Book Fest is Back! It's their 5th anniversary this year

It's Hari Raya today, & first time in my life that the LRT is so empty.. i can occupy the whole row of seats haha
Today is the last 3 days of the book fair. Told my friend that i'm not going on the first two days to avoid crowd. Thinking happily that Fri will be less ppl as it's towards the end of the fair. Well, my friend was right, it's raya holiday today and it's really very crowded.

There are jz too many books to read...but not having enough time...
too many books to buy but having enough money...

Chinese books section

music CD section

Trump's book can definitely be found in business books
think BIG!

English books section
Bought some books but surprisingly, not one of them are my favourite author Sydney Sheldon's.

Met a friend and we went for dinner together. however, he drove to the wrong direction and we ended up at Cheras eating dinner at 10pm+ haha..

anyway, has a nice dinner and satisfied with my purchase

hair rebonding

i've been thinking of rebonding my hair for some times..

it's a holiday today, so here i go.. looking for an affordable price range. went to De 'Xan where i rebonded my hair last year and the price is rm140.. hmm, i'm looking for sthg cheaper, so went on to another salon, e3, which is just a few shops away..

For shoulder length or shorter, it's rm79. My hair is longer, so the price is rm99, not include cutting and treatment. There's another package which is rm179.

It took me 3 1/2 hours to finally finish the rebonding process. Almost fall asleep and i got very impatient towards the end..haha.. people come and go while i'm still there..but the boss is very nice, prepare chinese tea and 2 packets of biscuits for me, saying i must be hungry already..

Train Tickets

Finally, bought my ktm train tickets to Singapore. Feeling excited as this is gonna be my first time boarding a train.

There are only 3 trains from KL Sentral to Singapore in a day: 9am, 2pm and 11pm. From Singapore - KL, the schedules are: 8.30am, 1.30pm and 10.30pm.
So i bought the night train 11pm to Singapore and it'll take about 8 hours, reaching there at 7am. Perfect! as i can have whole day walking around Singapore.

There are few types of cabins available:
seats: RM34
double-decker bunks: Upper deck - RM40 Lower deck - RM46
premium single room: RM200+
Passengers have to arrive 30min before the departure time. Boarding at KL Sentral 2nd floor, Gate B which is beside KFC. It will arrive at Tanjong Pagar mrt station, at the south of Singapore.
anticipating my singapore trip & first experience of taking a very long distance train!

next move: money changer

coincidence

Jz sold out another story book last night. Usually i post it through mail, to people from far & near: KL, selangor, N.9, johor, pahang....

when this buyer asked about my location, i was thinking: no chance we're staying anywhere near to each other...i've sold many and non of them are even nearby..

well, when he said doesnt prefer mail as it may takes few days or the book may be spoiled during delivery, and told me he's at setapak...i was stil a bit reluctant, thinking :wow..so near...but maybe desa setapak? still nt gona be convenient for me...

when asked further...
what? he's actually staying at the same condo with me...what's more, same block! what a coincidence!
'the world is so small', i told him.

like i always say, everybody turn out to be the friend of ur friend, and eventually ur friend.. so everybody knows everybody haha....it's jz a small small world..

'u check n see is the book ok?' i asked him. He flipped through and say: it's perfect!
Glad that my secondhand book is still in good condition =)
happy with the sale...free of risks / troubles of delivery & transactions =)

Quotes from Bill Gates

Here are some quotes from the richest man in the world...

• Life is not fair; get used to it. (i like this one! =) that's life..jz get used to it! haha)

• Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one. (make me wonder, are u a nerd when u were young, mr gates?)

• If you can't make it good, at least make it look good.

• It's fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure

• Just in terms of allocation of time resources, religion is not very efficient. There's a lot more I could be doing on a Sunday morning

• If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure

• If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

• Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

• Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time

• Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. (this is so true! people in the movies always seem to have more than 24hrs)

• Like almost everyone who uses e-mail, I receive a ton of spam every day. Much of it offers to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It would be funny if it weren't so exciting. (maybe he should reply those emails, asking them, do YOU need some loan / knw who i am? haha)

• People everywhere love Windows. (lol..do u agree?)

• Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose.

• There are people who don't like capitalism, and people who don't like PCs. But there's no-one who likes the PC who doesn't like Microsoft.

• Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. (so i have to say 'thank u' to those customers who complaint and scold..haha..)

• I failed in some subjects in exam, but my friend passed in all. Now he’s an engineer in Microsoft and I’m the owner of Microsoft (this is so true! result is not everything..doesnt portray how successful u'll be in the future!)

• In most companies, you don't get too much mail where people are saying, 'Hey, we lost this account.' But that's what you really need to know about, because it might change what you're doing. You need to know about competitive activity. You need to know about customer feedback that says things should be better.

• Every day were saying, 'How can we keep this customer happy?' How can we get ahead in innovation by doing this, because if we don't, somebody else will.

• Often you have to rely on intuition.

• One thing people underestimate is how markets don't allow anyone to do anything except make better and better products.
